6510 Sharon Hills Rd.
Charlotte, NC 28210

As the story goes, this log cabin was originally built as a hunting lodge for Duke Power workers stationed at Lake Wylie. Around 1944, it was purchased by Art and Gertrude Jones. Art added three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a deck off the back, doubling the size. He did the work himself one summer along  with a helper. The deck was built with wood salvaged from the American Trust Co. (Bank of America) Building on South Tryon St., and much of the interior wood came from woods nearby on Sharon Hills Rd. Jones later added a small lake, making the house a lake front oasis, complete with a dam, drainage, and overflow systems.

The house is approximately 2300 sq. ft with 3 bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms.

In addition, there is a sliver of land across the street

Parcel # 20936146 that belongs with 6510. It includes a bamboo grove, swing area and natural path that follows the creek.
